Field Trip Guidelines

Planning field trips is the responsibility of all group members. We will have however many field trips that we as members are willing to plan and set up. If there aren't any field trips happening in your child(ren)'s age range or areas of interest, take the initiative to plan one. You will be appreciated by all! When participating in a field trip, please observe the following guidelines:

  • Please be at the location of the field trip on time. "On time" means 15 minutes early so you can go in as a group with the group leader.
  • Please call the field trip coordinator if you are unable to attend an activity that you have signed up for.
  • If you commit to attend a field trip for which a group rate depends on your attendance, and you cannot attend, you must either find a member family to take your place, or simply pay for the trip anyway. This ensures that the rest of the attendees will not have to pay the full price because of your inability to attend.
  • Members wishing to participate in any group activity are responsible to RSVP and/or pay the fee for the activity to the appropriate person by the given deadline.
  • All children attending a group activity must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Children are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards other children as well as adults.
  • If you bring someone else's children to an activity, you are responsible to see that the children adhere to the behavior policy above.
  • Modest dress is required.

Conflicts

If problems arise with a child's behavior at a group activity, a member observing the objectionable behavior will go to the parent in order to express the concern. This should be done with a prayerful spirit, and an attitude of gentleness and meekness; in this way we should be able to handle the situation with tact and sensitivity. If the issue becomes unresolvable, then the leadership of the group will be brought in to try to resolve it. This is important, as an uncooperative child will disrupt the activity for all attending. Each situation will have to be dealt with on an individual basis, depending on the kind of activity and the kind of disruption. Most parents are reasonable and able to work together to resolve conflicts. The group leaders reserve the right to bar a child from a certain activity if he/she continues to be a problem.
